EARLY DAYS
I was born and raised in beautiful southern Indiana, specifically in Huntingburg, IN. Most of my family is still in Dubois county. I graduated from Southridge High School in 2010. After high school I enrolled at the University of Evansville.
SCHOOL DAYS
My first internship occurred the summer after my freshman year (2011) at Professional Consultants Inc. (PCI) Skanska. After my internship I got an opportunity to be a co-op student engineer with the same company.
I was involved with the research and academic sectors later in my college career. I spent my summers doing undergraduate research in the summers of 2013 & 2014. The research cohorts were at Iowa State University and Oakland University (in Michigan), respectively.
I graduated from the University of Evansville with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) and a 3.6 GPA in 2015.
CAREER JOURNEY - EVANSVILLE
My first occupation as a degreed engineer was with PCI Skanska, the same company with whom I was a co-op. I worked for the company from my college graduation until 2019, primarily as a field engineer and construction manager.
I spent nearly 5 years in Evansville, IN working for (at the time) Skanska (formerly Industrial Contractors) as a design and field engineer. Field engineering is not glamourous and the hours can be grueling, however the hands-on experience I got is irreplaceable.
CAREER JOURNEY - INDIANAPOLIS
After Skanska, I became a design engineer at Mussett, Nicholas, & Associates (MNA) in Indianapolis, IN. I designed and specified mechanical and plumbing systems for industrial clients all across the state.
I got project management experience and in 2021, I became a Professional Licensed Engineer in HVAC/R in state of Indiana. Once I had my PE license I became a Senior Mechanical Engineer at MNA. I later left MNA in October of 2022 at the conclusion of Covid mandates in order to relocate closer to home.
CAREER JOURNEY - LOUISVILLE
From 2022-2023 I was a Senior Mechanical Engineer at West Point Engineers (WPE) in Louisville, Kentucky. This position allowed me to move closer to home and learn more about the business side of the industry. WPE is a small consultancy specializing in Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) projects across the nation. Working on government contracts turned out to not be a good fit for me due to the pace of the projects/client.
After WPE, I have remained in the private sector, working for over a year for Shrout, Tate, Wilson (STW) based on of Lexington. STW only does MEP engineering, acting as a subconsultant to the architect on the project. For financial reasons, I moved on from STW and accepted a position with Luckett & Farley, a larger AEC firm based out of Louisville, KY.
In February 2025 I decided Luckett & Farley was not where I wanted to be employed for the next 20-30 years of my career. I took some time to focus on my own health and well being, by far the longest break I have taken since I graduated nearly 10 years ago in 2015!
SUMMARY
Last update: 05/05/2025
I am an engineer with a solid background in education, 10 years of industry experience, professionally (PE) licensed in (2) states, and an up-to-date NCEES record. The last 3 years have been hectic and I'm looking to settle into a stable role with a good company. I'd like to re-ignite the passion I once had for engineering.
